Kala Academy Goa, in joint collaboration with Tiatr Academy Goa and Institute Menezes Braganza organizes Tiatr Day Celebration on Sunday, 24th April 2022, from 4.00 p.m onwards at the Main Auditorium, Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji. Shri Govind Gaude, Hon’ble Minister for Art & Culture, Govt. of Goa, will be the Chief Guest for the function. Shri. Menino Fernandes, President, Tiatr Academy Goa, Shri. Mario Menezes, Vice President, Tiatr Academy Goa, Dr. Cosma Fernandes, Executive Member of Kala Academy, Shri. Premanand Sangodkar, and Shri. Avito Fernandes,Senior Tiatr Artist, will be on the dais.

On this occasion get together/ tea party for invites at the exhibition hall of Institute Menezes Braganza is arranged from 3.30 p.m to 4.00 p.m, Thereafter, Tiatr Day function will be held in which 12 senior Goan tiatr artistes namely Maria Lourdes Fernandes (Singer & Stage Actress), Salvador Afonso (Director, Singer, Script Writer), Minguel Rodrigues (Musician-Saxophone player), Hortencio Saluzinho Eduardo Vaz e Pereira (Director, Writer, Actor, Lyricist) Joao Francisco Silva alias John D’Silva (Actor, Writer, Director), Ramesh Babay Komarpant (Script Writer, Director, Singer), Felicidade P. Rebelo (Director, Actor, Singer), Zeferino Dias (Script Writer, Singer) Kenneth Michael Thereza Zuzarte (Singer, Lyricist), Menino Mario Araujo ( Script Writer, Lyricist, Singer, Actor), Jose Antonio Agostinho Fernandes (Anthony San) (Director, Writer, Actor, Singer, Lyricist), Vitorino B.J. De Araujo (Musician – Trumpet player) will be felicitated at the hands of the Chief Guest for their outstanding contribution in the field of tiatr.

The felicitation function will be followed by the Prize Distribution of Tiatr ‘B’ Group Competition 2020-21 at the hands of dignitaries.

Kala Academy has appealed the Tiatr lovers to attend the aforesaid function in large numbers.

The results of the 7th Tiatr Competition ‘B’ Group organized by Kala Academy from 8th March to 15th March 2022 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, have been declared and accordingly Tiatr “PRISON MINISTRY” staged by Goan.Com Socio & Cultural Association, Candolim has been selected for first prize of Rs.50,000/-. Tiatr “DOLLE UGDAT” staged by Pacheco’s Dramatic & Cultural Association, Curtorim and Tiatr “POILO GHONTT”. staged by Kala Niketan, Majorda have won second prize of Rs.40,000/- and third Prize of Rs.30,000/-respectively. The Consolation prize of Rs. 20,000/- has been awarded to Tiatr “MAU” staged by JJ Productions, St.Cruz.

The first prize for best acting in male category was bagged by Shri. Johny D’silva for the role of Anthony in the Tiatr “Prison Ministry” whereas the second prize was awarded to Shri. Carmo J S Pacheco for the role of Daddy in the Tiatr “Dolle Ugdat”. The merit certificates of acting (male) have been awarded to Shri. Simon D’silva – Kaden (“Prison Ministry), Shri. Baptist Crasto- (“Gaveak Vokod Za”).
The first prize for best acting in female category was awarded to Antoneta D’souza for the role of Madonna in the Tiatr “Mau” whereas the second prize in acting was bagged by Candida Mascarenhas for the role of Masha in the Tiatr “Dolle Ugdat”. The merit certificates of acting (Female) have been bagged by Craby J Fernandes – Alina (“Poilo Ghontt”), Maricia Fernandes- Ruby (“ Prison Ministry”), Celina Fernandes – Maim (“Thank You”).

The prize in Best Negative Role has been awarded to Ubaldo Fernandes for the role of Nickson in Tiatr “Dolle Ugdat” and the second prize was bagged by Dr. Shamin Pereira for the role of Rosita in the Tiatr “Poilo Ghontt”. The merit certificates for negative role have been bagged by Akash D’souza – Chris (“Mau”), Sonia Travasso – Nisha (“ Dolle Ugdat”).

The Best Comedian- ‘Male’ prize was bagged by David Pereira for the role of Desmond in Tiatr “Poilo Ghontt”. The merit certificate was awarded to Joel Furtado-Poko(“ Thank You”).

The Best Comedian- ‘Female’ prize declared to Evola Conto for the role of Isu in Tiatr “Dolle Ugdat”. The merit certificate has been awarded to Melba Dias e D’cunha – Filsu (“Poilo Ghontt”).

The first prize for best direction was awarded to Joy Fernandes for Tiatr “Prison Ministry”. The second and third prize has been bagged by Carmo Pacheco for Tiatr “Dolle Udgat” and Michael Gracias for Tiatr “Poilo Ghontt” respectively.
The best stage set up award was bagged by Cheryl Lea Pacheco for Tiatr “Dolle Ugdat”. The merit certificate for stage set up was awarded to Kapil Chari for Tiatr “Prison Ministry”.

The best light effect award was secured by Tejas Khadekar for Tiatr “Poilo Ghontt” and the merit certificate was given to Shantaram Pawar for Tiatr “Prison Ministry”.

The best music band award was bagged by Nolvert Cotta with merit certificates to his band members namely James Vaz, Roy Menezes, Senon De souza, Semy Braganza, Xavier de Moira, Benny Cardozo, for the Tiatr “prison Ministry” and Merit Certificate to Senon D’Sousa,James Vaz,semy Braganza,Franoy gomes,Joao Fernandes for the Tiatr”Poilo Ghontt” .
The prize for best make-up award declared to Pritam D Naik for Tiatr “Prison Ministry” Merit Certificate for best Makeup- Sonia Travasso “Dolle Ugdat”

The best costume award has been awarded to Greta De Souza for “Prison Ministry”. Merit Certificate for best Costumes- Bella Fatima Pacheco “Dolle Ugdat”

The best background music award declared to Purushottam Mardolkar for “Gaveak Vokod Za”. Merit Certificate for best background music- Joy Fernandes “Prison Ministry”

The first and the second prize for best singer male (solo) award was awarded to Fr. Savio Costa (Lata Mangueshkar Xrodhanjali) for Tiatr “Prison Ministry” and Ramson Cardozo (Handicap Bhurgo) for Tiatr “Thank You” respectively. The merit certificates was bagged by Lawrence D’silva (Rozar Kumsar Kont for Tiatr “Gaveak Vokod Za”
The first and the second prize for best singer female (solo) was bagged by Simran Vas (Goa oh Goa) for Tiatr “Prison Ministry” and Maricia Gonsalves (Mau) for Tiatr “Maim”.
The best prize for child singer male(solo) has been awarded to Amsden Rodrigues (Utor Vortea Valoraschem Tem Maim) for Tiatr “Prison Ministry”.

The Best Choral Cantar Singing award has been bagged by Candida Mascarenhas, Valerie Vaz, Swizel Vaz, Swena Vaz (Ostori ) for Tiatr “ Dolle Ugdat”. The merit certificates were bagged by Simran Vas, Shanice Vas, Ashylyn D’silva, Coralee Mendes, Simon D’silva, Wilber Dias, Jason Braganza & Joash Almeida for Tiatr “ Prison Ministry”.

The best duet award was bagged by Agnlo D’cunha and Melba Dias e D’cunha (Mutthbhor mati) for Tiatr “Poilo Ghontt”. The merit certificates was awarded to Jasmina Fernandes & lawrenco D’silva for “Sun ani Sasumaim”, Amriz Colaco & Lanessa Mascarenhas for “Prison Ministry”

The best Duo award was awarded to Simran Vas & Shanice Vas for “Prison Minstry”. The merit certificates was bagged by Lisa Sequeira & Joylin for Tiatr “Mau’.

The best trio award was bagged by Wilber Dias, Ashlyn D’silva, Charlotte fernandes for “Prison Ministry”. The merit certificates was awarded to Joaquim D’Costa, Luzito Fernandes, Sonia Travasso for Tiatr “ Dolle Ugdaatt”. Craby Fernandes, Gracy Pereira, Josny for Tiatr “Poilo Ghontt”.

The best Quartet award was awarded to Fr. Carson Dourado, Fr. Cruzberto Colaco, Aaron Mascarenhas, Roshwin Fernandes for “Prison Ministry”. Merit Certificates for Quartet or Quintet- Ivon, Macanzie, Aston, Sheldy for Tiatr “Thank You” and Clareema, Craby, Hannah, Morishka for Tiatr “Polo Ghontt”.

The best lyrics award was bagged by Fr. Savio Costa for lyrics of Cantar “Goa oh Goa Mhoje Maim” in the Tiatr “Prison Ministry”. The merit certificate was awarded to George Gonsalves for lyrics of Cantar “Duyensam” for Tiatr “Poilo Ghontt”.
The first prize for the best script has been declared to Fr. Milton Rodrigues for Tiatr “Prison Ministry” staged by Goan.Com Socio & Cultural Assocaiation, Candolim. The second prize for script declared to Carmo Pacheco for Tiatr “Dolle Ugdat” staged Pacheco’s Dramatic and Cultural Assciation, Curtorim.

Total 7 institutions participated in the competition. The judges who judged the performances in competition were Shri. Marcos Gonsalves, Shri. R.B.S Komarpant and Shri. Fermino Goes. The lyrics and script were judged by Smt. Jasmina Rodrigues.
Kala Academy has congratulated all the prize winners. The prize distribution of this competition will be declared at later stage. All are requested to make a note of the same.

FOR FAVOUR OF PUBLICATION

Kala Academy Goa has declared the results of 46th State Art Exhibition (Student Category). Accordingly, Seeya Atul Pandit in the Painting and Graphic Print Section, Sidharth Vasant Turi in Applied and Graphic design section and Akash Ankush Gaude in Sculpture section respectively have been awarded the first prize of Rs. 10,000/- each. Artists Prafulla Dahanukar Award of Rs. 15,000/- for the Best work in the exhibition has been declared to Prayuj Velip for his work in painting & Graphic Print. The panel of judges namely Shri Sainath Padte, Shri. Kalidas Satardekar and Smt. Kranti Chari judged this exhibition of competitive nature.

In Painting and Graphic print section, Sidhan Gurudas Kundaikar and Narayan Kalidas Vernekar secured second and third prize respectively, whereas in Applied Art and Graphic design section, Dilkhush D. Gurav and Scully Fernandes have bagged second and secured third prize respectively. In sculpture section, Nehal Parker has been awarded second prize and Firuza Rashida Rodrigues been selected for third prize. Prize sponsored by Goa Hindu Association in memory of Artist Late Raoji V. Gaunekar has been secured by Nitin R. Narvekar whereas Late Hanumanth B. Neugi Memorial prize has gone to Nikhil Suresh Gaonkar.

Kala Academy is organizing the State Art Exhibition for the last 45 years. This year, altogether -193 works were received in all the three sections and a total of 87 works are selected for display in the exhibition.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on 23rd March 2022 at 11.00 a.m at Art Gallery of Directorate of Art & Culture, Govt. of Goa, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto-Panaji. The exhibition will be on view for public from 23rd March to 27th March 2022 at Art Gallery of Directorate of Art & Culture, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto-Panaji from 10.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m on the above stated days of the exhibition. Kala Academy Goa has congratulated all the prize winners. The date of prize distribution function of both Artist & Students category State Art Exhibition 2021-22 will be declared at later stage.

Kala Academy has appealed to all the participants, fine artists and art lovers to witness the exhibition & inaugural function in large numbers.
