The ‘Rangamel’ – Repertory Company of Kala Academy was established on 16th October, 1992 to fulfill a long felt need of professional theatre in Goa. It provides professional theatrical experience and a platform to the passed out students of Kala Academy’s School of Drama as well as the theatre enthusiasts of the State of Goa. Rangmel has so far produced 42 plays in four different languages i.e. Konkani, Marathi, Hindi and English. Rangamel’s play productions have been successfully staged in several National Festivals in and outside the State of Goa. Rangmel has also traveled Internationally to Dublin, Ireland and has successfully performed shows ofits two English plays “The Red Oleander” and “The Post Office”in the past.

Rangmel produced and presented its new play in Marathi viz “Dhurintanche Timir Jawo” written by Shri Bal Kolhatkar and directed by eminent senior Goan Theatre personality Shri. Madhukar Joshi. The inaugural show was staged on 21st August, 2013 at the Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir, Panaji. Rangmel, so far, has staged 32 successful shows ofthe said play at different places in the State of Goa. |

Rangamel produced and presented the second new full length play “Sood Zagor” – a Konkani transcreation of the world famous play “Hamlet” by the great playwright William Shakespear. This play has been transcreated and directed by the Veteran Goan theatre personality Shri Shridhar Kamat Bambolkar. The inaugural show was staged on 21st Jan., 2014 at the Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala campal, Panaji. Rangmel has Mandir, So far, staged 6 successful shows of the said play at different places in the State of Goa which includes participation in Konkani Theatre Festival at Keri, Pernem organized by Goa Konkani Akademi. |
