The 28th edition of the prestigious ‘Nupur’ – Classical Dance Festival jointly organized by Kala Academy Goa and West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur will be held on 10th, 11th, & 12th March, 2023 daily at 7:00.p.m with the courtesy of Shree Mahalasa Saunsthan, Mardol in the Temple premises of Shree Mahalasa Devasthan, Mardol- Goa with the participation of national as well as international repute artists in the field of Classical Dance. The festival will be inaugurated on the Friday, 10th March, 2023 at 6.45 p.m. at the hands of Shri. Premanand Kamat, President of Shree Mahalasa Saunsthan, Mardol in the presence of Shri.Vinesh Arlenkar, Member Secretary, Kala Academy Goa at the aforesaid venue. The performances with live accompaniment will commence daily at 7.00 p.m.
Kala Academy has invited top ranking artists of the country in various dance forms besides Goan artists of repute to perform in this festival. After the inaugural function on Friday, the 10th March 2023, Bharatanatyam (Group Choreography) dance will be presented by Saish Naik & Nidhi Raikar along with students of Kala Academy namely Manju Mahale, Aakruthi Tamanker, Gauri Shanbhag & Amisha Adkonkar under the guidance of Dr. Sapna Naik Lecturer in Bharatnatyam, Faculty of Indian Music & Dance, Kala Academy Goa. The first day’s programme will conclude with Kathak Dance by Sharvari Jamenis, Pune.
On Saturday, the 11th March, 2023, Kathak (Group Choreography) dance will be presented by Arpita Shirodkar along with students of Kala Academy Ms. Aryaa Rege, Ms. Sakshi Shetye, Ms. Shruti Gawas and Ms. Navami Naik at 7.00 p.m. under the guidance of Smt. Varada Bedekar, Lecturer in Kathak, Faculty of Indian Music & Dance, Kala Academy Goa. This will be followed by Bharatanatyam by Ramya Suresh from Bengaluru.
On the concluding day i.e. on Sunday, the 12th March 2023, Impana Kulkarni from Goa will present Bharatanatyam Dance at 7.00 p.m. The festival will conclude with Odissi Dance by Aarya Nande from Raigarh, Chhattisgarh.
The organizers have appealed the dance lovers, connoisseurs and students to attend the festival in large numbers. The programmes are open to all.
