Kala Academy has declared the result of Children Drawing Competition at State Level. The prize winners at Taluka level only in three categories, namely Primary level, middle school level and high school level were qualified to participate in the State level children drawing competition which was held on 16th February 2020 between 11.00 a.m to 12:30 noon at Mushtifund High School, Cujira-Bambolim.

The date of prize distribution function of Taluka Level & State Level Children Painting Competition will be informed at a later stage.

Duly filled in entries in the prescribed format are invited by Kala Academy Goa from Goan Choir groups/ institutions and churches for participation in the State Level Choir (hymns) singing competition, so as to reach to Kala Academy office latest by 4th March 2020. The copy of the rules and regulations and entry form in the prescribed format will be available at Kala Academy Goa from 2nd March 2020. There is no entry fee for participating the competition. The competition will be held on Saturday, the 7th March 2020 at Dinanath Mangeshkar Auditorium of Kala Academy at Panaji.
The participating groups will be paid travelling allowance (transportation) of one vehicle as per the norms of Kala Academy, besides, will pay Rs. 3,000/- as preparatory expenses. The winners will be awarded with a trophy and 1st prize amount of Rs. 50,000/-, the 2nd and 3rd prize respectively carries an amount of Rs.30,000/- & Rs.20,000/-. There will be two consolation prizes of Rs. 10,000/- each. The judging will be done on the aspects of voice intonation and rhythm, harmony, expressions, music arrangement, costumes and overall impact.
The competition will be open to Goan artist’s choir groups, institutions and churches. The competition will be held on 7th March 2020 at Kala Academy Complex, Panaji-Goa. Incase sufficient number of entries are received the competition will start at 10.00 a.m or if there are lesser entries, the competition will be held in afternoon session. If required there shall be draw of lots 2 days prior of the competition to decide the sequence of performance. As per the rules of the competition, each participating group shall have to present 3(three) hymns and the performance duration shall be minimum 10 minutes and maximum 15 minutes for each group and maximum 3 minutes time will be allowed for setting excluding the performance duration. Hymns are to be presented in Konkani language out of which one hymn may be presented in any other language. Each group shall have not less than seven(7) and not more than fifteen (15) participants including musicians. The groups shall perform in voices and the singers shall be allowed to participate in only one group. However, musicians may play in more than one group. While evaluating the performance the preference shall be given to live music.
The choir groups in Goa are requested to take a note of the above and submit their duly filled in entries in the prescribed format by the stipulated last date i.e 4th March 2020 at Kala Academy office during working hours.

The State Art Exhibition of Kala Academy in the Student Category will be held between 9th March to 13th March 2020 at the Art Gallery, Kala Academy Complex, Panaji. Entry forms along with the rules and regulations are available at the Kala Academy’s office during working hours from 10.00 a.m to 1.15 p.m and 2.00 p.m to 5.30 p.m.
The entries along with the exhibits will be accepted on 2nd & 3rd March 2020 between 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the office of Kala Academy, Campal, Panaji, excluding the lunch break i.e. from 1:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Kala Academy has appealed to all the interested Goan Art students to submit their entries along with the exhibits within the stipulated period.

The State Level Children Drawing Painting Competition of Kala Academy is scheduled on Sunday, 16th Feb., 2020 between 11.00 a.m to 12.30 p.m at Mushtifund High School, Cujira-Bambolim.-Goa.
All the prize winners of Taluka Level Drawing competition selected from regional centres i.e 12 talukasof Goa are requested to be present on the scheduled date & time for State Level Drawing Painting Competition on 16th Feb., 2020. All the participants should report at the venue latest by 10.30 a.m.
Kala Academy will only provide A-3 size drawing paper and rest of the painting material has to be arranged by the participants. The theme subject (topic) will be provided on the spot at the venue just before the commencement of the State Level Competition for Middle School Level (5th to 7th ) and High School Level (8th to 10th) category participants, however, the participants of Primary School Level ( 1st to 4th) shall be free to draw any subject theme.
Only the prize winners of three categories namely Primary level i.e ‘A’ category (1st to 4th Std), middle school level i.e ‘B’ category (5th to 7th Std) and high school level i.e ‘C’ category (8th to 10th Std) are qualified to participate in the State Level .
There shall not be any separate competition in ‘D’ Category at the State Level.

It has been second academic year now that Kala Academy, Goa has started College of Theatre Arts affiliated to Goa University which runs a degree course in Bachelor of Performing Arts. Kala Academy Goa’s College is now in a process of a Classroom Play Production for the students of first year of batch 2019-2020. As part of the academic syllabus, they will be performing a Marathi play titled “Aaranyak” written Ratnakar Matkari.
This play is now produced by Kala Academy Goa’s College Of Theatre Arts and is directed and designed the music by Abhay Jog and music accompanist by Sonik Velingkar (Flute), Mandar Joshi (Dhol) Avdhut Marathe (Harmonium) and Runal Kolkankar. Vijaykumar Naik (Lights) has designed the technical sides accompanied by Tejas Khedekar, Pravin Chavan and Rutik Babrekar. Make-up Artist as Sagar Haldankar accompanied by Suveda Palkar, Namrata Paryekar, Ankita Madkaikar. Aniket Naik, Aaditya Swaroop, Satyam Pathak, Dhiraj Naik as set designer. Prasad Take as set manager accompanied by Anushka Randive and Adarsh Govenkar. Anninesh Sawant, Sejal Shetye, Tanashri Rane, Taslima Mayekar, Vibhuti Volvoikar are set designers. The acting student on stage are Purushottam Mardolkar, Anninesh Sawant, Tejas Khedekar, Viraj Naik, Tanashri Rane, Aniket Naik, Sejal Shetye, Mamta Jaiswar, Aaditya Swaroop, Riya Nagvenkar, Rutik Babrekar, Dhiraj Naik, Prasad Take, Satyam Pathak, Adarsh Govenkar, Anushka Randive, Namrata Paryekar, Taslima Mayekar, Pravin Chavan, Adarsh Kalekar, Adarsh Kalekar, Vidyesh Jaide, Ashvek Naik, Pravesh Tari, Ankita Madkaikar, Suveda Palkar, Vibhuti Volvoikar.
The performance of this play will be held on 10th February 2020 at 7.00 pm at Dinnanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir, Panaji – Goa.
This performance is open to all.
